This workshop aims to provide participants with the underpinning theory and practical skills required to deliver safe and effective soft tissue techniques. Aimed at those who want to know the principles and application of a range of soft tissue techniques used treat sports injuries. This workshop would be useful for Sports Therapy / physiotherapy students, qualified therapist who want to update their skill set, or massage therapist who may wish to know more about sporting injuries. An understanding of the musculoskeletal system is required for this course.
Delivery & Assessment:
This workshop focuses on interactive teaching methods with a strong emphasis on practical skills. Important theory concepts will be delivered using a variety of engaging and fun methods, and practical skills will be delivered in a safe and friendly environment. There will be a lot of demonstration and practice time during this workshop, and participants are encouraged to act as a models as well as practicing skills. With this in mind, participants are asked to dress appropriately.
Sarah combines 16 years of teaching experience with practical sports therapy experience to deliver a high quality teaching and learning experience. Sarah is a university senior lecturer in Sports Therapy and delivers across a number of modules. She also has a wealth of experience of working on pitch side in a variety of sports and age groups, from youth through to professional levels. Sarah also works in a clinical environment working on sporting and every day injuries. This combination combines quality delivery with hands on experience in soft tissue techniques.
James has extensive experience of working in elite and high performance sport . James has a wealth of experience of working in multi sport settings, across all levels. His advanced soft tissue techniques are effective and this experience contributes to the quality of this workshop.
